It’s that time of the year when most people gather with friends and families to celebrate life, love, abundance, and exchange gifts and memories of the past year. Some even call it the most wonderful time of the year. At the same time, my heart and prayers go out to fellow humans across the globe that are deprived of freedom and others that mourn the loss of loved ones.
I’m filled with humble gratitude for the countless blessings and favours received in 2016. Publishing my debut autobiography “Go Ahead, You’re Home” was a huge accomplishment. Thanks to family, friends and collaborators for their support and encouragement.
Christmas is also a controversial celebration among Christians and non-Christians. The date of December 25th and its pagan origin that waggled its way into Christianity many centuries ago gives food for thought and discussion. The celebration of Christmas as such is nowhere to be found in scripture. Holding on to traditions or accepting and practicing new facts and insights of one’s faith, is a dilemma for many, including myself.
I believe and accept that Christ was born for the redemption of mankind. Commemoration and celebration of a date and season or even abstinence is a personal choice by conviction. Whatever your belief, tradition or practice may be, love, peace, gratitude and kindness should be practiced the whole year through. Romans 12:18
I wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and a Blessed and Prosperous 2017.
