My Desire is to be healthy, wealthy and wise in every area of my life. Mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally. What we desire will come true.
“Therefore I say unto you, whatever things you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them and you shall them.” Mark 11:24.
Awaiting manifestation of my Desires, I made a Decision to do whatever lies in my power to achieve my goals. I can’t just sit around and expecting things will unfold out of the blue. I have to choose what I feed into my mind. For example, the books I read, conversations I engage into, movies I watch and so on.
The Desire to write a book was born two years after I started writing the publisher’s note for Colorszine. In order to improve my writing skills and become more knowledgeable on topics I write about, I had to start reading and writing more often. By reading more, I realized that there’s so much information available to broaden one’s view and perspective on any subject.
During the book-publishing workshop, I realized I had a story to tell which led me to write a book. The Decision to write my first book was daunting. Time, energy, cost, were all investments towards fulfilling my Desire. Like Queen Esther in the Bible, I decided: If I Perish, I Perish
Needless to say I had my doubts and at times I even felt discouraged. Nevertheless, I was Determined to finish writing my book, which I did. Desire and Decision are enforced by Determination.
After the writing was finished, several other phases followed before the book was ready for printing and publising. Among other setbacks, funding was now the bottleneck that caused delay. Thankfully, that was recenty taken care of, so I can now “Go Ahead.”
“It always seems impossible until it’s Done.” Nelson Mandela.
This writing exercise can be compared with physical excercise. I don’t mean spending long hours in the gymn and trying every weight-loss program. Personally I’m not into gymns nor diets. I walk daily, cycle occasionally and when in the Caribbean, swimming and walking pertain to my daily rituals.
Emotionally and spiritually, I attempt to live by The Golden Rule. Daily Bible reading, study, prayer and meditation are the tools that help me define my behaviour towards fellow humans. I Decided to treat others the way I Desire to be treated with respect and kindness. I believe there would be less bitterness and resentment among us, if we consider that we all carry wounds and bruises of the past of some kind.
Determine to be nice, kind and gracious. “Do unto others as you would have done unto you.” Matthew 7:12
